Toronto, Canada - GAO Tek Inc. is offering its multi-purpose data communication tester designed for the creation, maintenance and troubleshooting of digital networks. The portable communication tester generates and monitors PCM30, PCM30 CRC, PCM31 and PCM31 CRC frame structures and provides an error analysis function which allows histograms of error or alarm data to be displayed. It performs both framed and unframed tests on various equipment such as primary multiplexers, digital cross connects, automatic protection switches and circuits at a speed of between 50bit/s and 2048kbit/s.

This optimized data communication tester, model CE5009,integrates a number of interfaces including V.24, V.35, V.11, X.21, G.703 Co-dir 64kbit/s and G.703-2Mkbit/s. Accommodations for future interfaces have also been considered. It supports synchronous or asynchronous data transmission via each interface.The rugged tester can be used for offline testing of primary multiplexers on G.703-2M unframed interface or online testing on G703-2M framed interface. Its test targets are FAS Error, FAS Error rate, Code Errors, E-bit Error, Block Error, CRC4 Error, CRC4Error rate, BE and BER for G.703-2M offline. The measurement results can be stored in its onboard memory to prevent data loss in the event of power failure.
