Tollgrade Features Broadband Service Assurance Solutions At NXTComm
Pittsburgh, PA - Tollgrade Communications, Inc. recently announced that it will feature the company's latest broadband service assurance solutions - the new DigiTest ICE broadband service assurance probe for remote low-line-count DSLAM locations, and the LDU 50, a proven physical layer test probe solution for central offices and remote cabinets - at NXTComm 2008 in Las Vegas, June 17- 19, 2008. Both products - DigiTest ICE and LDU 50 - will be featured at Booth 4724 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
First Release of DigiTest ICE Now Generally Available
As service providers continue to enjoy strong growth in broadband DSL and further develop their networks for triple play service offerings, the competitive pressure is greater than ever to provide cost-effective and highly reliable services to the end consumer. With fiber being pushed closer to the edge of the network, remote cabinet sites are supporting fewer subscribers via lower-line-count DSLAMs and MSANs. As a result, service providers and test vendors are challenged to provide more cost-effective and efficient service assurance solutions.
Tollgrade has responded to this challenge by introducing DigiTest ICE, its latest generation broadband service assurance test probe, which has been size and cost reduced to meet the harsh economic and environmental constraints of the next generation IP network remote cabinet. This solution is uniquely designed for installation at the remote FTTN site - inside the cabinet - placing it closer to the customer where it is able to segment faults between the access network and customer and visibility of the customer experience.
The compact ICE test probe is managed by the LoopCare(TM) Test OSS and is designed to support a full suite of physical layer measurements, and DSL synchronizations tests for ADSL, ADSL2+ and G.SHDSL DSLAMs, plus Broadband Internet application layer tests, including ISP emulation to confirm the consumers' service delivery and provide best-in-class fault isolation and dispatch.
After successful completion of domestic and international product trials, followed by initial orders, the product is now available for worldwide customer delivery.
LDU 50 Deployed in Europe and North America
The LDU 50 and its 4TEL/Celerity OSS's, acquired from the Broadband Test Division of Teradyne in 2007, are deployed throughout Europe and in the United States. The LDU 50 enables network operators to reduce the cost of provisioning and maintaining loops carrying voice and broadband data services.
The 4TEL and Celerity applications provide comprehensive voice and DSL service assurance loop test capabilities, supporting both on-demand and routine tests for reactive and proactive maintenance and qualification of the copper plant. The latest release of the LDU 50 now supports Celerity high- speed DSL loop qualification testing and 4TELII enhanced measurements for improved dispatch for a variety of North American DLC architectures.
"We have brought to market two solutions that enable telecom operators to provide 'best in class' service assurance to their customers while managing the operational efficiency of their repair organizations during transition from their current to next generation broadband networks and services," said Chris Barton, Tollgrade's Executive Director of Marketing. "DigiTest ICE and the LDU 50 represent industry leading solutions for improving broadband service delivery for networks of all sizes and result in the reduction of unnecessary field dispatches and ultimately lower operating costs," said Barton.
