Belkin Chooses Azimuth Systems' ACE Channel Emulator And ADEPT-n MIMO Test Platform For 802.11n Testing
September 8, 2008
Acton, MA - Azimuth Systems, Inc., a leading provider of wireless broadband test equipment and channel emulators for Wi-Fi, WiMAX, LTE and other 4G technologies, announced recently that Belkin International, Inc., has selected the ACE channel emulator and ADEPT-n MIMO test platform to automate the testing of its N and N1 wireless networking product lines. Designed specifically for MIMO testing, the ACE channel emulator and ADEPT-n MIMO test platform provide a framework for automated and repeatable performance, interoperability and functional testing of 802.11n devices. The use of the ACE channel emulator and ADEPT-n from Azimuth will dramatically streamline Belkin's quality assurance processes.
Based on the 802.11n draft standard, Belkin's N and N1 Wireless Routers utilize MIMO spatial multiplexing techniques to deliver wireless networking products with greatly increased speed, coverage and reliability. Azimuth's automated test solutions, including the ACE channel emulator and ADEPT-n, are designed specifically to meet the high fidelity requirements of MIMO and beamforming communications technologies used in products like Belkin's N and N1 lines. By automating its quality assurance processes on the Azimuth ACE channel emulator and ADEPT-n MIMO test platform, Belkin expects to increase test coverage while reducing the significant time and expenses associated with manual testing.
"Belkin is committed to providing the best user experience in the home networking market, and Azimuth's reputation in the Wi-Fi industry makes them a natural fit for us," said Chris McGugan, vice president of Development and Engineering for Belkin. "We are confident that the Azimuth 802.11n Wi-Fi test solutions will dramatically streamline our QA validation processes and help ensure that our customers receive the reliable, high-quality 802.11n wireless solutions they have come to expect from Belkin."
Azimuth's ACE family of MIMO-optimized channel emulators incorporate RF capabilities that enable the testing of mobility, high throughput and extended range promised by multi-antenna wireless transmissions. The ADEPT-n MIMO test platform is the industry's first single-box, point-to-multi-point tester that enables repeatable performance, interoperability and functional testing of 802.11n devices. Used in conjunction, the two products offer the most comprehensive test solution for semiconductor vendors, device manufacturers and service providers testing 802.11n services and solutions.
"802.11n represents the forefront of Wi-Fi technology and vendors are being challenged to deliver high-performance products while keeping the costs of their operations in check," said Graham Celine, senior director of Marketing at Azimuth Systems. "As the provider of the industry's most comprehensive suite of Wi-Fi engineering test equipment, we're pleased that Belkin has selected our unique, automated testing approach to perform their advanced MIMO testing."
