To help designers and production engineers meet increasingly difficult timing specifications, WAVECREST developed VISI 6.0 Advanced dataCOM Software. This software can be used as a jitter analyses tool for a variety of data communication protocols including Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet. Important algorithms included in this package offer the capability to predict long term reliability of systems and components in seconds. Other dataCOM software features include:

• Measure Deterministic Jitter (DJ), Periodic Jitter (PJ), and Random Jitter (RJ) on a data signal
• Measure duty cycle distortion out to 131,000 unit intervals
• Guarantee 1000 seconds of reliability in <1 second
• Measure clock-to-data on both rise and fall edges
• Separate DJ and RJ (Two channel clock-to-data analysis)
• Apply probability density function to determine system reliability
