Details

Wavecrest Corporationng the nature of the jitter that a device or circuit can tolerate is critical in determining the peak performance that the device or circuit can achieve and maintain. The WAVECREST DTS-550 is a high-performance clock signal generator that is used for the debug and characterization of high-speed jitter sensitive circuits and systems. Capable of generating a clock signal with user-programmable RMS jitter or periodic jitter, the WAVECREST DTS-550 is ideal for testing device or circuit tolerances for various levels and frequencies of jitter.

1) Unit Interval (UI) is defined as the bit period of the data stream. In terms of clock signals, 1UI is equal to one period of the clock.
(2) Maximum Periodic Jitter Amplitude is the cumulative effect a given periodic jitter component will have to offset the clock pulse from the desired location.
(3) Maximum Period Jitter drops off linearly from 600MHz. The 800MHz data point is included to define the slope of the linear performance curve from 600MHz to 1062.5Mhz.
