The VisionGauge LASER profiling system uses LAser triangulation to carry out thickness measurements. With LASER Triangulation, a fine LASER line is projected across the camera's field of view. Because the LASER beam is at an angle relative to the camera's line-of-sight axis, any height variations in the sample will break the LASER line up into segments. The height difference is obtained by measuring the offset between the linr segments with VisionGauge's advanced easy-to-use high accuracy measurement tools.

The VisionGauge LASER profiling system is a complete hardware & software solution for easy and accurate 3D measurements. It uses LASER triangulationto carry out thickness measurements. VisionGauge's LASEr profiling hardware assembly is designed so that the optics for both the camera and LASER are always in focus on the same plane, regardless of magification and sample height. This makes the overall system extremely simple to use. Furtermore, the rack-and-pinion focusing mechanism hads both coarse and fine focus adjustments, with as high quality zoom optics and quartz-halogen lighting, all of which combine to produce imagery that is clear and sharp.
