U.S. Army Special Operations Command Awards Amplifier Contract To AR Modular RF
Like AR's other front line, battle-tested military amplifiers, the KMW1040 is rugged, dependable, compact, flexible, and easy to use. It can be used for Line of Sight (LOS), Satellite SATCOM and SINCGARS frequency hopping modes of operation, and is compatible with all current tactical waveforms.
Operation of the KMW1040 requires no operator intervention or mode setting, as the amplifier automatically selects the correct band of operation. The level is also automatically controlled to maintain constant output power. It is protected against antenna mismatch, over-temperature, excessive current draw, and DC power reversal. It is designed to operate from both 12 and 24 volt vehicles and incorporates suppression circuitry to deal with vehicle DC power supply transients.
The KMW1040 has passed a series of demanding operational field tests in real-world conditions and will now go into full production. It is the latest in a line of Battle-Tested tactical radio amplifiers that have proven they can stand up to the toughest military condition.
