30-GHz Optical/Electrical Converter
Tektronix announced an optical-to-electrical (O/E) converter for use in the design and manufacturing of OC-192/STM-64 products, and demonstrated a full suite of products targeted at dense wavelength division multiplexing test needs.
The 30-GHz SD-48 O/E converter is optimized for characterizing the pulse shape of OC-192 and STM-64 optical signals in both performance and conformance testing.
The SD-48 includes a reference receiver option that is fully compliant with the ITU-T draft proposal for OC192/STM64 conformance testing, offering superior frequency roll-off characteristics. The conversion gain of 15 mV/mW3 provides performance over existing O/E converters. This ensures that manufacturing tests comply with the ITU-T standard and that network elements will be compatible with other systems.
The O/E converter provides complete functionality with Tektronix CSA803, and 11800 Series sampling oscilloscopes, and TDS Series digitizing oscilloscopes.
