622 Mbps ATM Testing Support from RADCOM Prism Analyzers

Network test equipment manufacturer RADCOM Ltd. announced the release of the 622 Line Interface Module for its Prism range, supporting testing of ATM OC-12c/STM4 lines. The new LIM can be used with either the Combo or Cell Front End Processors (FEPs) to provide testing solutions for all current and future ATM applications on 622 Mbps lines, including Signalling Simulation, QoS and ATM BERT.

"The addition of the OC-12c/STM4 Line Interface Module enhances the flexibility of the PrismLite WAN/LAN/ATM protocol analyzer as a field service testing tool covering all common ATM lines ranging from 1.5 to 622 Mbps," says Jacob Cazes, RADCOM's Prism product manager.

"The challenges of installing and maintaining today's complex internetworks require a tool that can seamlessly connect to any available WAN, LAN or ATM technology," Cazes says. "The addition of a 622 Mbps interface, further enhances the Prism's position as a leading all-in-one internetworking testing solution."

The LIM supports full duplex monitoring, cell generation and AAL5 frame generation on both single-mode and multi-mode links. In addition, line-rate powerful hardware filters allow filtering on any of the ATM cell header fields, as well as combinations of VPI/VCI ranges. The 622 LIM also enables line-rate statistics and traffic generation of any AAL1, AAL3/4 and AAL5 data, including streams that are prepared using RADCOM's IP blaster application.

The 622 LIM will begin shipping in the third quarter of this year.

RADCOM's test and analysis equipment is used in the development and manufacturing of network equipment; the installation of networks; and the ongoing maintenance of operational networks to facilitate real-time identification, diagnosis, isolation and resolution of network problems.
