Agilent Technologies and QUALCOMM Form Alliance for Wireless RFIC Testing

Agilent Technologies and QUALCOMM (Palo Alto and San Diego, CA) have signed an agreement to partner in the development and delivery of production test solutions for RF wireless application specific integrated circuits (ASICs). The alliance covers the delivery of standardized Agilent 84000 RFIC Series test solutions for QUALCOMM CDMA Technologies' RF ASICs, as well as assists QUALCOMM's test suppliers in reducing their cost of test and cost of ownership.

The alliance will also provide on-site test applications experts and faster test program development tools for QUALCOMM CDMA Technologies to improve time to market for RF ASICs. Cost of ownership is lowered by utilizing standard, scalable, test platforms and standard fixturing for both wafer-sort and final device testing.

QUALCOMM CDMA Technologies is a developer and supplier of CDMA chipsets, hardware and software solutions, and tools. Products include the Mobile Station Modem (MSM) digital baseband processor, receive (Rx) and transmit (Tx) radio frequency devices, IF/Analog processors and power management devices for CDMA handsets and Cell Site Modem (CSM) devices for CDMA infrastructure products. The division supplies chipsets to the world's leading CDMA handset and infrastructure manufacturers with more than 65 million MSM chips shipped worldwide.

Agilent's current 84000 Series product portfolio includes solutions for complete transceivers, multifunction RFICs, mixers, switches, power amplifiers and low noise amplifiers (LNAs).

Agilent Technologies designs and manufactures test, measurement and monitoring instruments, systems and solutions, and semiconductor and optical components. The company serves markets that include communications, electronics, life sciences and healthcare.
