Agilent Technologies to acquire ATN Microwave, a developer of RF component test systems

Agilent Technologies signed an agreement to acquire ATN Microwave Inc. ATN, founded in 1984, specializes in microwave measurement solutions for wireless and high-speed data communication applications. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

According to Agilent, the acquisition of ATN and its 26 employees in North Billerica, MA will provide Agilent with products, engineering expertise and intellectual property related to the measurement of multiport devices, balanced circuits, signal integrity, large-signal characterization, and noise, as well as electronic calibration of test instruments. These areas are increasingly critical in the design and manufacture of components used in the communications industry. Acquiring ATN will allow Agilent to integrate these technologies earlier into its test platforms.
