Anritsu And Bluetest Launch Joint 802.11ax OTA Measurement Solution

Anritsu and Bluetest continue to support the evolution of WLAN by extending their combined OTA test offering to include the latest 802.11ax WLAN standard.

This collaboration provides customers with a complete WLAN Over-the-Air (OTA) test solution capable of transmit power (TRP) and transmit receiver sensitivity (TIS) measurements on devices and access points on all WLAN standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax). Measuring the OTA performance in life-like but repeatable conditions enables device manufacturers to optimize the radio performance and end-user satisfaction.

The Wireless Connectivity Test Set MT8862A (WLAN Tester) is dedicated to the WLAN standard, hence optimized for stable and reliable connections with wider dynamic range, even in a faded environment such as in the Bluetest reverberation chamber. It also has Anritsu’s patented technology “Data Rate Control”’ feature, which makes it possible to verify the device’s RF performance at all the data rates.

“One of the strengths of the reverberation chamber technology is the capability to easily handle measurements on small as well as larger IoT devices and smart home appliances, such as TV monitors, laundry machines, etc.,” says Bluetest’s product manager Klas Arvidsson. “We see that this kind of devices often use WLAN to enable the connectivity.”

Hideo Zuinen, Product Manager, IoT Test Solutions Division, Anritsu Corporation, adds, “In recent years, condition problems and complaints are increasing in the WLAN market, and quality tests simulating actual operating conditions are becoming increasingly important. Anritsu and Bluetest continue to develop leading-edge test solutions and existing customers can upgrade to 802.11ax by just adding new firmware/software.“
