Anritsu's MT8000A And MT8821C Adopted ETS-Lindgren's CTIA-Certified 5G mmWave (FR2) OTA Test System
Integrated Solution Accelerates Device Verification for 5G FR2 Band
ANRITSU CORPORATION announces that its wireless communication test set MT8000A and Radio Communication Analyzer MT8821C have been selected by ETS-Lindgren, a global leader in OTA (Over-The-Air) wireless test solutions, for its FR2 OTA test system. This system is certified to the FR2 OTA test standard defined by CTIA (Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association), a US telecommunications industry association, for spatial evaluation of wireless performance in the 5G millimeter wave band.
It integrates ETS-Lindgren's Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) chamber, AMS-5703, with Anritsu's MT8000A and MT8821C to configure a controlled, RF-shielded environment for high-precision beamforming and signaling testing.
Together, the AMS-5703, which is designed to support high-frequency mmWave testing up to 43.5 GHz, and comprehensive solution featuring the MT8000A, covering 5G NR for both sub-6 GHz (FR1) and mmWave (FR2) bands at 28 GHz, 39 GHz, and 43.5 GHz, and the MT8821C for integrated LTE and legacy cellular technology support provide a turnkey solution that accelerates certification and commercialization for wireless device manufacturers. This combined Anritsu solution facilitates robust testing in Non-Standalone (NSA) modes and carrier aggregation scenarios requiring both 5G NR and LTE capabilities. With ETS-Lindgren’s EMQuest EMQ-100 antenna measurement software, the system streamlines OTA workflows and supports conformance with CTIA, 3GPP, GCF, and PTCRB standards.
“Building on our longstanding collaboration with Anritsu, this CTIA FR2 certification of the AMS-5703 with the MT8000A and MT8821C represents a significant advance in mmWave OTA testing,” said Andy Warner, President at ETS-Lindgren. “Our joint solution empowers test labs and OEMs to validate real-world 5G performance with unmatched accuracy and efficiency, driving innovation in high-bandwidth applications.”
Makoto Yamada, Director of Solution Marketing Department, Mobile Solutions Division at Anritsu, added, “The integration of the MT8000A and MT8821C with ETS-Lindgren’s AMS-5703 chamber ensures robust support for evolving 5G requirements, including beam management and comprehensive FR1/FR2 coverage. This certification underscores our commitment to delivering scalable, future-proof test platforms meeting the demands of global certification bodies.”
The certified system is available for deployment now with flexible upgrades for existing OTA labs. View ETS-Lindgren’s wireless test solutions here or visit www.ets-lindgren.com. For more information about Anritsu’s 5G testing portfolio at www.anritsu.com.
