ASAT Tests Wireless RF With A567 From Teradyne

ASAT (UK) Ltd. has taken delivery of Teradyne's A567 Advanced Mixed-Signal Microwave test system for testing wireless RF devices. The test system, which was installed at ASAT's European headquarters in Crumlin, South Wales in the second quarter of 1998, will service the company's growing number of contracts within the mobile telephony market across Europe.

The decision to buy Teradyne's advanced mixed-signal microwave test system was based on ASAT's need to both test a large product mix and support RFIC testing in a high-volume production environment. Teradyne's test instrumentation, spans DC to microwave and accommodates testing families of wireless devices from baseband to antenna.

The A567 is a modular system for testing high-volume, commodity mixed-signal devices. Designed with the common architecture of the A5 family, the A567 offers an advanced mixed-signal test solution. The A567 can be configured with a purely analog set of instrumentation and upgraded to a full mixed-signal capability.
