Certified NetAnalyst Tool Kit Approved Training Program
Pine Mountain Group (Groveland, CA), developers of Network General's (now Network Associates) Sniffer training course, announces network forensic training programs for: Fluke 68X Enterprise LanMeter test tool, Visio Enterprise, Netcom Smartbits, Shomiti gigabit analyzers, Ipswitch What's Up, and startup Network ICE's security intrusion detection tools.
Pine Mountain Group has been training enterprise network technologists through the Certified NetAnalyst program around the world and at N+I for the past four years. PMG has chosen a "standards-based approach'' over the currently popular product/version approach used by router, switch and operating system infrastructure vendors. Many vendors train primarily on installing their specific products, while PMG trains on troubleshooting the network from application to server and all points betweenregardless of vendor. Product-oriented certification is based on proprietary technology that vendors use to "lock-in" consumers. PMG's standard-based approach helps technologists learn how standards work and are implemented, requiring only syntax changes between vendor products.
These best of breed tools were chosen to start the lineup not only for their synergistic qualities, but also because PMG engineers used them out in the field and have informally provided training on them during NetAnalyst courses. Most of the new courses are in the course schedule now, and are from half-day to five days in length. All PMG courses are arranged in half-day topic modules, allowing students to target one topic, a set of selected topics or a full week of packaged topics. All courses are available onsite and any set of topics can be selected according to the technologies and tools a company uses. A full set of training videos (over 50 hours) and selected CD-ROM based diagnostic tool AVI training files are available to prepare for taking the Certified NetAnalyst tests. Candidates can take the test at N+I or at any sites PMG training is offered around the U.S. and Europe. Separate test categories available for the following disciplines include: Certified NetAnalystInternet, Security, Cross-Technology and Architect proficiencies.
