Communications Test Software

The TDSCEM1 Java-powered communications test software is designed for the company's TDS5—D/700D family of Digital Phosphor Oscilloscopes. The software provides a suite of measurements used by equipment manufacturers in the communications industry to characterize the quality of optical signals. The application provides quantitative eye diagram measurements that help communications design engineers better understand communication signals beyond qualitative pass/fail mask testing. The software allows TDS500D/700D customers to perform automatic measurements on eye diagrams and to perform mask tests provided by the Communications Signal Analyzer package. Automatic eye diagram measurements include Jitter, percent Crossing, Extinction Ratio, Eye Height, Eye Width, and Quality Factor. The software offers the added functionality of GPIB control, logging measurements to a file and user control of the statistics population size.
