Credence and Multitech Jointly Develop RF Testing Solutions

Credence Systems, a manufacture of automatic test equipment (ATE) for the semiconductor industry, announced it has installed a Duo RF (radio frequency) at Multitech Design & Test's production facility in Sunnyvale, CA. Credence and Multitech are working together to develop advanced testing techniques for emerging RF VLSI devices. The companies have pledged joint application development and support to meet the escalating demand in this rapidly growing market segment.

"The surging popularity of handheld wireless consumer products has lead to an explosion in demand for RF circuits," said Saeed Shakeri, president of Multitech.

Credence's Duo Series provides manufacturers with the ability to test digital mixed-signal (DMS) integrated circuits (ICs) on a single platform. In addition to Duo's DMS capabilities, the Duo RF provides wideband 6GHz source and measure range by combining Rohde & Schwarz synthesizers, flexible DSP-based measurements and high performance RF pin electronics permanently within the test head. The system enables measurements of up to eight RF input/output (I/O) ports, and provides up to 128 digital pins at 100 MHz and 200MHz with up to two analog subsystems.
