EM Research Announces Frequency Synthesizers For Use In Antenna, Test And Measurement Applications

Source: EM Research, Inc.

Reno, NV -- EM Research, Inc. manufactures high-performance standard and custom-designed frequency sources for commercial and military systems. They specialize in surface-mount and modular phase-locked oscillators and frequency synthesizers from 4 MHz to over 18 GHz. The company recently launched several new frequency synthesizers as outlined below.

VSAT Frequency Synthesizer Provides Low Spurious Emission

EM Research designed the HFS-2150 for VSAT applications yielding extremely low spurious emission (< - 80 dBc typical) and operating between 950 to 2150 MHz. The unit also features switching speeds of < 5 mSec and good phase noise (<-110 dBc/Hz @ 100 KHz). The HFS Series is housed in a 1.25" x 1" x 0.24" (31.8mm x 25.4mm x 6.4mm) package and offers low power consumption with a power output of +5 VDC. @ 90 mA.

Connectorized Synthesizer Designed for Optical Clock

The SLS-9900 from EM Research was designed as a reference oscillator in an optical clock application. Operating at 9980-9900 MHz, the SLS unit is housed in a multi-purpose, connectorized package measuring 1.5" x 2.0" x 0.6" (38.1mm x 38.1mm x 15.2mm). The SLS-9900 features switching speeds of < 1 mSec with step sizes at 200 KHz and excellent phase noise (<-98 dBc/Hz @ 100 KHz). The unit also offers our proprietary SUSI format which simplifies progamming and a power output of +12 VDC @ 245 mA.

High Frequency Synthesizers fit for Receiver Test Sets

The THOR-5800 frequency synthesizer from EM Research was designed for use in a receiver test set operating in an indoor range antenna. The unit operates fixed at 5800 MHz with 10 MHz reference and +7 dBm output power. The THOR is housed in a connectorized (optional hermetically sealed), 2.5" x 1.1" x 0.4" (63.5mm x 33mm x 10.2mm) package and features two removable SMA connectors. The THOR Series offers great phase noise (<-90 dBc/Hz @ 10 KHz), +8 VDC @ 200 mA, and operates from -30°C to +70°C temperature range. The THOR-5800 is another example of a great custom design from EM Research.
