Evans Analytical Group Completes Acquisition Of Micro Electronic Failure Analysis Services
Over the past decade MEFAS has earned an excellent reputation as a cost-effective problem solver and client partner. During that time, the company has grown to a team of approximately 40 engineers and technicians possessing a combined experience of over 625 man-years in the failure analysis and reliability testing of semiconductor devices, providing its clients with critical testing services that accelerate their product design cycle. MEFAS' customer base includes some of the largest manufacturers, designers, and distributors of semiconductor devices on three continents.
This acquisition further advances EAG's strategic plan to become the leading supplier of an integrated package of RTP services, including electronic failure analysis and reliability testing services. The acquisition of MEFAS, combined with the acquisitions of AMER (December 2006) and Accurel Systems (May 2007), positions EAG as one of the largest companies in the electronic failure analysis industry, significantly expanding the range of testing services that it provides its semiconductor and electronics industry customers.
David Lahar, Executive Chairman of EAG said, "We are extremely pleased to add MEFAS to the rapidly expanding EAG family. MEFAS is a clear leader in the electronic failure analysis market, with a range of technical expertise that is acknowledged throughout the industry. Combined with EAG's integrated lab network whose reach extends into strategic high growth tech regions such as China and Taiwan, we can now support global customers with a comprehensive array of electronic failure analysis and reliability testing services when and where they are needed. Failure analysis and reliability testing services directly complement EAG's strengths in the surface analysis and materials characterization market, and we intend to aggressively pursue further expansion of our FA and reliability testing capabilities to better serve our customers. EAG is actively engaged in discussions with several acquisition candidates in this area and expects to close other transaction(s) before the end of the fiscal year."
MEFAS co-founders Jon Gergen and Mahmood Homayounieh enthusiastically share this view and add, "EAG is the perfect platform and environment for MEFAS to flourish, allowing us to expand our failure analysis services on a worldwide basis and better serve our growing customer base. Having a single, well-capitalized supplier of the full range of failure analysis and reliability testing services is of critical importance to both our direct customers and their foundry partners in moving new product designs into volume production. Together with EAG we can now offer unparalleled expertise and the capacity to deliver rapid turnaround results to a customer base reliant on quick answers to complex problems."
