Fluke Introduces New Network Management Test Tool

N/Ampany%>, a provider of products and related services for the installation, maintenance and monitoring of networks, announced the introduction of the Fluke 686 and 683 Enterprise LANMeter test tools, the web-enabled, next-generation portable network management and analysis tools.

The Fluke 686/683 tools also feature WideAreaWizard, an option that allows network managers to troubleshoot wide-area network (WAN) interfaces including frame relay, ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) and T1/E1 network connections.

The web-enabled Fluke 686 and 683 supports a centralized network management philosophy by providing network managers with a powerful dispatched tool that allows users to access its troubleshooting and analysis information from remote locations. The Fluke 686 and 683 tools function as an HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) server, allowing network managers to access results, datalog files, and reports from any Web browser. Additionally, the tool can be configured to e-mail data files for documentation or further analysis.

Fluke also announced its WideAreaWizard, an option that allows the Fluke 686 and 683 Enterprise LANMeter test tools to query and access configuration, status and error information on WAN interfaces including frame relay, ISDN and T1/E1 standards-based Management Information Bases (MIBs) by utilizing Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
