GOEPEL Electronic Introduces New Series Of PXI Controllers

Cambridge, UK -- During the Boundary Scan Day, UK GOEPEL electronic, vendor of JTAG/Boundary Scan solutions compliant with IEEE Std. 1149.x, officially announced the market introduction of another series of PXI controllers within the frame of the Boundary Scan hardware platform SCANFLEX.The new SCANFLEX Boundary Scan controller (SFX-Controller) family is named SFX/PXI1149/CX-(x) and includes six models in different performance classes.
"The increasing number of highly complex PXI applications with Mass Interconnect Interfaces is challenging the integration ability of instruments. Our SCANFLEX controllers are ideally designed for this task because of their compact and flexible interfaces", says Thomas Wenzel, Managing Director of the Business Unit Boundary Scan at GĂ–PEL electronic. "We are the only vendor offering optimised solutions for each PXI based application."
SFX/PXI1149/CX-(x) are the first controllers having completely integrated the normally separate SCANFLEX TAP transceivers in the 1 Slot/3U controllers. The typically hard to mount external pods can be omitted, particularly for Short Wire Adaptations. Additionally, the wiring effort for different Interface Test Adapter (ITA), e.g. from Virginia Panel or Mac Panel, can be minimized by exchangeable Connector Paddle Cards, (CONPAC).
The new controller series includes a 2 TAP and a 4 TAP version, available in three performance classes A, B and C. The models differ in the upper TCK frequency limit (maximum of 20, 50, or 80 MHz, respectively) as well as the level of implementation of the enhanced SPACE II chip set for high performance scan operations. In contrast to conventional solutions, the integrated FASTSCALE technology allows an upgrade of the controller's performance class "on the fly", without intricate mounting of additional hardware. Furthermore, as standard features all SCANFLEX controllers include ADYCS II to compensate for signal path delays, and HYSCAN for dynamic splitting of serial TAP vectors and parallel I/O vectors.
All TAPs provide programmable input and output voltage as well as programmable input and output impedance, programmable TCK frequency, programmable delay compensation, read-back of the output signals and a relay controlled power signal. Furthermore, resources such as 32 dynamic I/O, two analogue I/O channels, three static I/O, and trigger lines are standard features.
The new controller SFX/PXI1149/CX-(x) is fully supported in the Boundary Scan Software SYSTEM CASCON from version 4.3.1 onwards. Based on CASCON API functions (CASCON Application Programming Interface), software plug-in modules are available for comfortable system integration using tools such as NI LabView, NI LabWindows and NI TestStand, among others.
