High Frequency Power Analyzer

The bandwidth of the PZ4000 is DC to 2 MHz with a sampling speed of up to 5 MS/s. This makes it a solution for power measurement applications in high frequency power electronics, for lighting & electronic ballasts, high frequency switching-mode power supplies, advanced motor controls, and other power conversion devices with complex waveforms.
With an acquisition memory of up to 4 Mega Words per channel, RMS value trends of voltage, current and power can be measured and displayed as well as a cycle-by-cycle power calculation and trend. This permits characterizing total power start up parameters of devices such as electric motors or fluorescent lamps with electronic ballast. Time window display duration can be user-selected for a few microseconds to several minutes.
Other features of the PZ4000 include a color LCD display that can display up to 64 measurement values plus up to 10 waveforms. Basic accuracy is 0.1%. An optional built-in thermal printer is available for printing measurement and analysis results. The analyzer functions measure voltage, current, and power harmonics, and total harmonic distortion (THD) to 500 orders, plus an FFT function. GPIB, RS232-C and Centronics interface are standard, as well as a floppy disk drive. An optional SCSI interface can be ordered. Three-year warranty is standard.
The PZ4000 consists of a mainframe with up to 4 plug in power modules. Total power can be measured on single phase, three-phase three-wire and three-phase four-wire circuits. Input-output power on a three-phase three-wire device can also be measured with just one instrument. Two instruments can be connected together in a master-slave configuration for up to 8 synchronized measurement channels.
