HP Adds Post-Processing Software to Its CDMA Drive-Test System

Hewlett-Packard Company announces adding post-processing software to its family of CDMA drive-test systems. The HP E7480A software helps wireless-service providers and network equipment manufacturers deploy and optimize cellular networks more efficiently and accurately.

The HP E7480A software enhances HP's current CDMA drive-test solutions, providing a complete solution that graphically presents information on network problems and their causes. The integration of phone and receiver data helps CDMA engineers reduce the time it takes to find problems -- including dropped calls, frame erasure rate and blocked calls -- and identify the root causes of the problems -- such as pilot pollution, coverage holes, search-window problems and base-station timing errors.

The HP E7480A post-processing software is expected to be available in December for $9,000.
