HP Names Three Execs to New Measurement Company
Hewlett-Packard named Robert R. Walker VP/CFO of the new measurement company created by this week's split of the Silicon Valley company. The new company will comprise HP's test and measurement, components, chemical analysis and medical businesses.
Ned Barnholt, CEO of the new company, also named Jean M. Halloran as VP of human resources and William R. Hahn as VP of strategic planning. In the new company, Walker's responsibilities will be to lead all of the financial and information technology functions, and manage the company's real estate portfolio. Hahn's role will focus on strategic planning, including managing the selection of the new company name. In addition, he will be responsible for creating a new finance and remarketing capability and corporate development functions.
All three executives are HP veterans. Walker joined the company in 1975. Halloran is an 18 year veteran. Hahn is a 20-year veteran. The new company was announced Tuesday (Today's EN, March 2) by retiring HP President/CEO/Chairman Lewis E. Platt as part of a strategic realignment of HP. HP is considering an initial public offering (IPO) for approximately 15% of the measurement company's outstanding shares by year-end.
