Infineon Selects Agilent's Pin Scale System To Test Highly Integrated Communication Devices
"We selected the Agilent 93000 Pin Scale because of its compatibility with our progressive design-for-test roadmap," said Peter Muhmenthaler, principal, test innovation and methodology, Infineon Technologies. "We value Agilent's commitment to this platform, which supports us with an innovative, non-disruptive architecture in terms of future test technologies."
"Infineon manufactures feature-rich solutions that require multiple technologies on a single chip," said Pascal Ronde, vice president of Agilent's Semiconductor Test Solutions. "Agilent is pleased to provide a cost-effective, flexible solution with the ability to test multiple technologies on a single platform. This will allow Infineon to deliver competitively priced, mixed-signal products to market faster. In addition, as Infineon's applications increase in complexity, the Agilent 93000 can be scaled to meet the company's emerging test needs."
The system selected by Infineon includes the Pin Scale 800 card, with digital speeds up to 800 Mb/s and memory up to 256 MB (X4 Mode) on each pin, delivering the performance demanded by next-generation devices. Per-pin speed scalability from 200 Mb/s to 800 Mb/s provides the performance needed to test a wide range of interfaces, including USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394.
The Agilent 93000 provides a scalable platform architecture for testing systems-on-chips (SOCs) and systems-in-packages (SIPs) and high-speed memory devices. With more than 1,200 systems sold worldwide, the Agilent 93000 is the system of choice for subcontract manufacturers, integrated device manufacturers and fabless companies. The Agilent 93000 meets the industry's demanding performance and cost challenges, whether for at-speed engineering characterization or high-volume production. The test system provides massive multisite capabilities, enables data rates up to 10 Gb/s and supports a full range of digital, mixed-signal and RF applications.
The Agilent 93000 Pin Scale system includes the InstaPin performance library for optimized speed and memory asset utilization. InstaPin enables immediate software configuration to match the speed and memory performance levels per pin of the device to be tested. InstaPin's floating per-pin licenses can be shared across the pins of a tester, testers on a test floor and production facilities.
