IOtech Acquires Assets of Strawberry Tree

IOtech, a privately-held supplier of PC-based data acquisition systems and instrumentation, today announced it has acquired the assets of Strawberry Tree, Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA) including the company's primary product lines, Data Shuttle, DynaRes, and Data Shuttle Express. Beginning April 1, the products will be exclusively marketed and manufactured by IOtech at its Cleveland, Ohio headquarters. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

The acquisition of its former rival's products is the company's first major acquisition, intended to increase market share and to strengthen IOtech's position in a changing industry. "We have been exploring acquisition opportunities for the past year, as one component of our long-term growth strategy," said Pat McCoy, IOtech vice president of Finance. "Our plan is to continue exploring other acquisition opportunities that would complement our core business," he said.

The acquired Strawberry Tree products are PC-based instruments used by design engineers, test engineers, and scientists to measure parameters such as voltage, temperature, vibration, and strain.
