ISA Bus Expander Kit

ADAC Corporation ISA bus expander kit allows you to easily expand the number of available ISA card slots in any host PC. The 5916 provides a completely software transparent active AT ISA bus extension between the host PC and the ISA expansion chassis.

The 5916 bus extender consists of two cards and two interconnect cables. One of the cards in the set plugs into an open ISA slot in the host computer, while the other installs into an open ISA slot in the expansion chassis. A shielded cable connects the cards and minimizes interference from outside electromagnetic fields. Standard cable length is 1 or 2 Meters.

This expansion design effectively allows any single slot in a PC to be converted into an 11 slot extension of the PC bus. The PC expansion hardware is virtually transparent to the user, and requires no configuration, or special software consideration. Any boards installed in the PC ISA expansion chassis will function as if they were installed directly in the host PC (including DMA and Interrupt functions)

Multiple 5916 expander card sets can be installed into the backplane of a host PC, creating a star configuration "Super PC" with over 100 available ISA card slots.
