Karl Schmidt Unisia Selects Powerful DynoLab™ Pt Test Cell Control Systems To Be Used At New State-Of-The-Art Engineering And Test Facility

SAKOR Technologies, Inc., a recognized leader in the development of test instrumentation products for a variety of industries, is pleased to announce that Karl Schmidt Unisia, Inc., industry-leading supplier of pistons, selected seven powerful DynoLAB™ PT test control systems to be used at its new state-of-the-art Engineering and Test Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The facility focuses on durability testing and specialized testing for gasoline and diesel engines, and components.

Charles Shappell, Karl Schmidt Unisia's engine test lab manager, commented, "We conducted an exhaustive search within the test cell industry to find the best solution available. After our evaluation, we chose SAKOR Technologies because their systems offered more functionality than competitive systems at a better price. In addition, we have received superior support and service from SAKOR, which is important when you are getting a new facility up and running."

The DynoLAB PT provides dependable testing of engines, vehicles, and related drivetrain components. It seamlessly integrates external devices, including all types of dynamometers, throttle actuators, spark & fuel controllers, combustion analysis systems, emission analyzers, driver's aid consoles and other smart I/O devices.

Randy Beattie, president of SAKOR Technologies, comments, "We are thrilled to have partnered with an outstanding organization like Karl Schmidt Unisia. To be chosen over many competitors is a true testament to the quality and superiority of our products and service. I look forward to a long-lasting relationship with Charles Shappell and the entire team at Karl Schmidt Unisia."

The DynoLAB PT is the heart of the test cell. It controls the entire process from scheduling the test to collecting and archiving the data. It monitors all engine parameters, such as speed, torque, throttle position, and lambda, as well as all manners of pressure, temperature, flow, etc. In durability situations, such as at Karl Schmidt Unisia, the system conducts unattended tests which run anywhere from several minutes up to 2000 hours or more to gauge long-term durability.

In addition, the system offers a superior graphical user interface (GUI) and advanced programming features that makes writing test sequences easier for engineers and technicians.

Shappell comments, "As a result of the system's advanced programming features, our engineers can write a new test sequence in about 20% less time than when working with other systems."
