Mercury Centrifugal Disc System

Source: AAC Engineered Systems, Inc.
A rotating disc at the bottom of a stationary process chamber rotates at high RPM
How Does It Work?
A rotating disc at the bottom of a stationary process chamber rotates at high RPM. This creates a "tornado" of parts, abrasive media, and water (or no water at all, in the case of dry processing). This action deburrs, descales, radiuses and burnishes parts up to ten times faster than traditional vibratory methods.

Who Can Benefit?
The Mercury centrifugal disc is best suited to manufacturers of small, high-volume parts. Stamping, fine-blanking, powdered metal, screw machine, cold-headed or small cast/forged parts manufacturers are all successfully using the Mercury for their toughest applications.

Why The Mercury?
With several centrifugal disc systems available on the market, why choose the Mercury from AAC?

  1. Abrasite – AAC's revolutionary wear-resistant alloy, Abrasite, outlasts urethane liners two to one or more! It's also renewable and impervious to heat. You can even process wet OR dry in the same machine with no special setup required.
  2. Horizontal Gap – AAC's design virtually eliminates one of centrifugal disc finishing's most nagging problems–machine jamming. The Mercury gap is also adjustable and does not require perfect concentricity to run properly as most competitive units do.
  3. Hydraulic Power – AAC is the only centrifugal disc manufacturer that can make this promise. As long as you own your Mercury, you will NEVER wear out the gearbox. There isn't one. The advantages of hydraulic power are numerous. More power in a smaller package. Ability to turn the heaviest loads in the industry (including steel and part-on-part loads). The hydraulic power plant also provides the drive to all of the Mercury's material handling devices, eliminating troublesome chain drives.
