Mitel Semiconductor Introduce ASIC Design Kit for PC
Mitel Semiconductor is introducing a new version of its ASIC Design Kit in January with full support for ASIC design tools on Pentium-based workstations running Microsoft Windows NT. The new kit complements Mitel's support for UNIX operating systems from Sun Microsystems and Hewlett Packard, as well as industry standard ASIC design tools from Cadence, Mentor and Synopsys. Several of the tools from these companies now run under Windows NT, and more are expected next year.
Mitel Semiconductor's CMOS ASIC Design Kits take advantage of the supported design tools, allowing use of the same data across different platforms. This permits designers to move seamlessly between hardware platforms and operating systems using the same tools, and they can change the hardware and tools used on a design.
The Mitel Semiconductor ASIC product line includes 0.6 µm and 0.35 µm gate array, embedded array and standard cell products, with 0.18 standard cell products due to be released by mid-1999. The products are ideal for medium to high complexity designs and full system level solutions.
Mitel's ASIC System CMOS Design Kit includes the following tools: from Cadence Composer, Verilog-XL, Leapfrog, Veritime, Verifault, Pearl; from Mentor, Design Architect, QuickSim, QuickPath, QuickFault, ModelSim, SSTVelocity, DFT Architect, FastScan, FlexTest, BSDArchitect, MBIST, LBIST, AutoLogic; from Synopsys, Design Compiler, Power Compiler, Test Compiler, Design Power, TestGen, PrimeTime, VCS, VSS; from LogicVision, icBIST, LogicBIST, tapBIST, memBIST; and from Mitel, Universal Delay Calculator, Paracell Model Generator, Test Pattern Verifier.
The ASIC System CMOS Design Kit is provided at no charge to all of Mitel's ASIC customers.
