Model 3270 Time Code Translator

The Model 3270 Time Code Translator reads time code inputs such as IRIG A, B and G, XR3 and 2137, providing a front panel display of their contents
Datachron Inc.270 Time Code Translator reads time code inputs such as IRIG A, B and G, XR3 and 2137, providing a front panel display of their contents. The time code input is switch selectable.

The input time code is accepted by an AGC amplifier which provides a wide dynamic voltage and frequency range. The latter permits translation of time codes from a tape transport at widely varying playback to record ratios. Optional input filters extract the time code from noise or multiplexed data. Digital filtering (error bypass) assists the unit in reading time code containing errors.

Automatic forward/reverse detection circuitry ensures accurate time code translation regardless of the direction the tape transport is moving. Translation is on time in both the forward and reverse directions.

A standard output of Datachron Inc.270 is a normalized version of the time code input.

Optional outputs include:

  • Parallel BCD outputs (tenths of milliseconds through days)
  • Parallel Binary Outputs (several ranges and resolutions available)
  • Computer Interfaces
  • IEEE488 In/Out
  • RS232C In/Out
  • Multiple Rate Slow Code Output for Strip Chart Recording
