Optimized Devices, Inc. announces the availability of Model STT Automatic Transformer Test System for high-speed automatic testing of power, switchmode, audio and communication transformers. Model STT saves test costs and assures transformer quality by completely testing transformers at a single connection. The computer controls all tests and makes all PASS/FAIL decisions, reducing test time and cost, and eliminating operator errors. A single operator using Model STT can test up to 1000 transformers per hour, compared to under 100 per hour by conventional methods.

The simplicity of use, fast setup, quick-change fixtures and easy program preparation makes this system ideal for testing short runs as well as large runs. Program preparation is simplified by the use of standard test statements and sample programs. No special computer training is required. Software is available for full data logging, repair ticket generation, labeling and S.P.C. reports, as well as maintenance items such as system self-check and calibration. Test and S.P.C data may also be stored on hard disk.

The test program verifies all transformer specifications, including winding voltages, resistance, excitation current, loss, hipot tests, etc. Programs are easily modified to provide preliminary and final test versions.

Model STT can test transformers with up to 20 leads. A dual station mode divides the system into two 10 terminal stations, allowing the operator to test on one side while loading/unloading on the other. This dual station mode can double throughput. Model STT has many new features and is the most advanced computer controlled transformer test system available. Several options allow each test system to be configured to exact user requirements.
