Fluke Corporationany%> announced Fluke Network Inspector network management software, a suite that offers core network management functionality with its ability to actively monitor TCP/IP, IPX and NetBIOS servers, clients, switches, routers, and printers. The software is available for a free 30-day trial.

The Network Inspector includes both a console that enables a system administrator to view the network, and an agent that collects the network information. The software installs on either the same Windows 95, or Windows NT workstation, or on separate machines for remote viewing of network segments.

The Fluke Network Inspector also offers a quick means of documenting configuration and status information. It maps all devices by DNS name, IPX name, NetBIOS name, IP address, and MAC address in a single view.

System administrators can use the software to perform tests to determine network-layer connectivity to specific devices, and trace the path of IP packets through the network to a device.

Using the Inspector, system administrators are alerted to potential errors on a network such as IP addresses, incorrect sub-network masks, and duplicate device names. Fluke Corporationany%>, P.O. Box 9090, Everett, WA 98206-9090. Phone: 425-347-6100; Fax: 425-356-5116.
