Network Performance Software

Chariot is a software product that allows network managers to stress-test their networks with realistic traffic at the applications layer. This is to enable that data is travelling through the same protocol stacks and network infrastructure as the intended new application. This software tool determines the performance of complex, multiprotocol networks. The user can separate the network performance from the application performance in the networking environment.

This tool executes from software agents, called network performance endpoints, on network platforms in both production and lab networks. The endpoints execute application scripts, which mimic actual applications running in the network or test lab. Information is then sent to the console for analysis. The application scripts isolate the network traffic generated by the application. This software tool runs on fifteen operating system platforms, from Windows 3.1 to MVS and supports the networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, SPX, IPX, and SNA).
