N/Aany's DrDAQ is a low cost data logger designed for educational use which simply plugs into a PC's parallel port for display or data-gathering. This $99 unit is unique in lots of ways: built-in sensors for light and temperature and a microphone for sound; use any pH probe for acid/base measurements; capture fast signals like sound waveforms; use outputs for control experiments; comes complete with software, cables and documentation; and DrDAQ doesn't need any external power. DrDAQ comes with practical experiments for instructors to use in educational settings. Using the built-in sensors you can start doing light, sound (dB level and waveforms) and temperature experiments, or measure pH by plugging-in a standard pH electrode.
The datalogger also has outputs for controlling experiments. Simply plug it into a PC and start measuring. DrDAQ is supplied with both PicoScope (oscilloscope) and PicoLog (data logging) software. It is supplied with all cables, software and example science experiments for $99.
