Portable ATM OC-12 Network Analysis Tool
Santa Clara, CA-based Network Associates [NETA] announced ATM OC-12 support with its Sniffer Pro High Speed, part of the Sniffer Pro 98 Portable Analysis Suite.
Network Associates claims its Sniffer Pro High Speed is the first portable network analyzer that can troubleshoot applications and devices designed for the emerging ATM OC-12 high-speed networks. The product can conduct full line-rate capture for the most common high-speed topologies, including Gigabit Ethernet and ATM OC-3 and OC-12.
Using a Windows-based interface, the ATM Sniffer Pro OC-12 provides full bandwidth support to ensure all network traffic is monitored and captured for analysis. With support for single and multi-mode fiber physical interfaces, Sniffer Pro High Speed allows users to perform monitoring and analysis of their ATM OC-12 networks regardless of configuration. In addition, the product's interchangeable physical interface modules allow users to perform monitoring and analysis of ATM OC-3 to OC-12 networks from one box.
Other features of the ATM Sniffer Pro OC-12 include; real-time statistics to display all connections on the link, providing information in graphical/tabular fashion to track bandwidth use (and error counts); monitoring of physical ATM ports while they send/receive traffic, allowing users to monitor the characteristics of ATM devices for any data transmission issues; quality of service testing option for analyzing and testing network throughput of independent service providers; and connectivity verification to remote end stations through an ATM network to ensure network availability.
Network Associates' Sniffer Pro High Speed with support for ATM OC-12 will be available September 30, 1998. For more information, contact International Data Corp. at 508-872-8200; or Network Associates, 408-346-3021.
