Audio Precision Simplifies Audio Test Automation With Multichannel Audio Analyzer

Beaverton, OR - Audio Precision announced recently that new functionality has been added to its APx500 Series of multichannel audio analyzers with the release of version 2.1 of the APx500 measurement software and a new digital I/O module.

The new release focuses on simplifying automation in audio test. Improvements to the award-winning Measurement Navigator allow users to build a sequence of measurements across multiple signal paths with operator prompts, customized pass/fail limits, calls to external applications and automatic graphic reports.

Users can also employ the comprehensive API to write custom applications or incorporate an APx analyzer into a larger automated setup. To support developers, the API documentation is supplemented with a library of sample tests written for LabVIEW, VB.NET and C#. Other enhancements in this release include a new digital I/O module that adds AES/EBU connectivity to the APx Series, switcher support which extends the potential channel count of an APx analyzer to 192 in and out, and several new audio measurements such as noise, 6-digit frequency measurements and DC level over time.

"APx continues to expand its capabilities," says Bruce Hofer, Chairman and Co-founder of Audio Precision. "Version 1.1 added coded audio; version 2.0 and the 16 channel model were aimed at power amp testers. Now the improvements to the Measurement Navigator and API in version 2.1 really open the door for the production line and other power-user environments."
