QualMark Corporation Announces Distribution and Service Agreement With Chroma ATE, Inc. of Taiwan

QualMark, a provider of accelerated life testing services and equipment primarily for electronics manufacturers, today announced Chroma ATE, Inc. has agreed to distribute QualMark's proprietary OVS Physical Stress System and provide related support services to manufacturers in Taiwan.

Founded in 1984, Chroma ATE is one of Taiwan's suppliers of test and measurement instruments, auto test equipment and power electronic products. The company has approximately 300 employees and reported 1997 revenue of $40.5 million.

QualMark's testing methods and equipment, which have gained strong market acceptance in the United States, enable manufacturers of electronic products to expose design and process related flaws. In the past year, the company has formed international OVS distribution agreements in the United Kingdom, Germany/Austria and the Benelux countries.

Harry Walls, chief operating officer of QualMark, said, "Taiwan is a highly industrialized nation and a leading world center of electronics manufacturing, representing an enormous potential market for QualMark's products and services. As one of the region's most well-respected providers of testing and measurement equipment, we are confident Chroma ATE will be an ideal partner in the penetration of this growing market.''

Preston Wilson, president and CEO of QualMark, said, "Based on the success of our other international distribution agreements and new overseas ARTC partnerships, we anticipate rapid acceptance of QualMark's accelerated testing methods and technology in Taiwan. This agreement will potentially serve as a stepping stone to other Southeast Asian markets and should result in a strong contribution to long-term revenue growth.''
