18-slot PXIe Chassis Has Configurable PCIe Switch Fabric

Adlink Technology’s PXES-2780 18-slot PXI Express chassis provides 10 hybrid peripheral slots, as well as a PCI Express switch fabric that can be configured for two-link x8 or four-link x4 PXI Express deployments. The chassis achieves 8-GB/s system bandwidth and up to 4 GB/s slot bandwidth for dedicated peripheral slots using PCI Express Gen2 signaling.

Useful for a variety of test and measurement applications, such as wireless and RF testing, the PXES-2780 has one system slot, one system timing slot, 10 hybrid peripheral slots, and six PXI Express peripheral slots. The hybrid slots preserve backward compatibility to accommodate PXI Express, PXI, CompactPCI Express, and CompactPCI modules.

The PXES-2780 offers built-in intelligent chassis management, enabling communication with embedded controllers via the SMBus or remote management from a remote system via an RS-232 port. For noise-sensitive environments, the chassis presents a low operating noise level of 46.3 dBa at room temperature.
