Systran Introduces MIL-STD-1553 Interface For PCI Systems
Systran Corp. (Dayton, OH), manufacturer of the 1553 Solutions line of MIL-STD-1553 devices, today announced the availability of two new MIL-STD-1553 PCI boards: the GLD+PCI and GLD+PCI/S. The microcode-based PCI boards are part of the Gold+ family.
The GLD+PCI is a multi-function 1553 simulation and test interface based on Systran's proven real-time microcode. It works equally well in both 1553A and 1553B applications. The GLD+PCI can simulate a bus controller, multiple remote terminals (up to 31), and a bus monitor simultaneously. Its proven microcode enables it to inject errors into bus traffic for test purposes.
The GLD+PCI/S board represents single function 1553 interfaces. Most single function 1553 boards use standard 1553 protocol chips to simulate a bus controller, a single remote terminal, or a simple bus monitor. By using microcode similar to the GLD+PCI, the GLD+PCI/S can emulate up to 31 remote terminals, provides additional bus instructions in bus controller mode, and can filter bus traffic at a lower level in hardware than typical protocol chip-based boards.
GoldExpress facilitates data acquisition, mission loading, LRU testing, and data bus debugging on the MIL-STD-1553 databus through the bus controller, remote terminal and bus monitor modes of Systran's 1553 Solutions boards. The software uses a common top level menu to access overlay modules specific to each card in Systran's Gold series. Its user-friendly GUI format allows users to perform many high-level MIL-STD-1553 bus analysis functions.
These boards can be also used with Systran's BusXchange Multiplex 1553 Bus Switch, a 16 x 16 crosspoint switch that provides differential connections from sixteen transformer-coupled, line replaceable unit (LRU) inputs to sixteen MIL-STD-1553 differential buses. The combination of Systran's Gold+ boards and the BusXchange switch allow users to quickly test MIL-STD-1553 applications on a number of differential buses without the time-consuming re-wiring associated with patch panels or single set-up systems.
