Talka Named Director of UL's European Operations

Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL; Melville, NY) has announced the promotion of Donald Talka to the position of director of European Operations, effective July 1. Within this position, Talka will be responsible for managing and developing UL's presence in Europe. He will report to Joe Bhatia, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the International Group, and will work in Neu-Isenburg, Germany.

Talka, who has been employed at UL since 1977, is presently a managing engineer in the Melville, NY office. A graduate of Pratt Institute with a BSEE, Talka obtained his Masters in Engineering Management from Polytechnic Institute of New York.
