Tekelec Introduces MGTS i3000 for Convergence Diagnostics
Exploiting the capabilities of its new high-capacity i3000 platform, Tekelec (Calabasas, CA) announced today the MGTS i3000: a suite of software solutions designed to address convergence diagnostic requirements for network equipment manufacturers.
The MGTS i3000 is a new diagnostic system that enables wireline and wireless manufacturers to test existing and emerging technologies, including Internet Protocol (IP) telephony, Signaling System 7 (SS7) over Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (W-CDMA), and third-generation (3G) mobile technologies.
The MGTS i3000 provides a powerful and scalable diagnostic platform for wireline and wireless industries. The wireline industry is transitioning from traditional circuit-switched to packet-based technologies, and MGTS i3000 enables testing of both technologies simultaneously. The system tests traditional SS7, Voice over IP, Voice over ATM, and Voice over Frame Relay technologies. It also tests traditional-based band and broadband technologies, including broadband optical interfaces.
The MGTS i3000 excels at high traffic capacities, on both the signaling and bearer channels, on a flexible platform. The MGTS i3000 includes extensive parallel-processing power for processing complex signaling protocols. The unique internal bus architecture, which provides a wide data path and high bandwidth, is designed to handle low- and high-speed bearer traffic switching for voice, data, and video traffic.
