Tektronix acquires Digianswer Bluetooth protocol analyzer, forms technology partnership
Bluetooth wireless technology will enable users to connect a wide range of computing and telecommunications devices easily and quickly, without the need for cables. To date, more than 2000 telecommunications, computing, and consumer products companies have joined as members of the Bluetooth SIG to drive development of the technology and bring it to market. According to Cahners-Instat, it is expected that by 2005 close to 670 million Bluetooth devices will be shipped annually.
The acquired Bluetooth protocol analyzer joins a suite of Tektronix products aimed at enabling the rapid adoption of Bluetooth technology in the electronics industry. In addition to further development of the protocol analyzer, the company plans to leverage this advanced technology across its entire product portfolio to provide more complete design and debug solutions for Bluetooth developers.
