Tektronix Names Wills CEO, Company Taps Slade as CFO

Additionally, the company named Colin Slade to the position of CFO. Carl Neon, formerly senior vice president and CFO, will continue to advise and consult to the company for an undetermined period. Meyer pointed to Slade's solid operational understanding and highlighted his accomplish ability to bring about fundamental changes in business practices.
Richard Wills, 44, has held a variety of senior management, international and operational positions during his 20-year Tektronix career. Prior to his post as company president, Wills was president of European and Americas Operations, respectively. During his tenure, he also led the Measurement Business Division's (MAD) Design, Service and Test business unit and was responsible for the company's core oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and accessories products. In addition he has served as worldwide director of marketing for MAD, as well as the manager for several MBD product lines.
Wills holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Oregon, and has a bachelor's degree in computer systems from Linfield College in Oregon. Before joining Tektronix, Wills spent six years in the U.S. Air Force with assignments in the U.S. and Europe supporting military communication systems and advanced electronic avionics.
Colin Slade, 45, a Certified Public Accountant, has held numerous high-level positions since joining the company in 1987, including vice president of finance, and vice president and corporate controller. His responsibilities have included investor relations, financial planning and analysis, accounting activities, financial reporting and tax. Prior to his corporate postings, he was controller for the color printer business. Before joining the company, Slade was the chief financial officer for Graphic Software Systems, Inc., and worked for Price Waterhouse in both the Portland, Ore. and London offices. Slade holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Oregon and is a member of the Financial Executives Institute.
