Test System for Digital TV Measurements

Tektronix announced the RFA300, a television test system dedicated to measuring eight-level vestigial sideband (8-VSB) digital television (DTV) signals. The RFA300 monitors the critical broadcast parameters required to transmit DTV signals. Similar to the VM700, the company's measurement set for analog TV, the RFA300 delivers instant visualization of the transmitter's signals to broadcasters.

Designed expressly for 8-VSB signals, the RFA300 is a measurement set available for monitoring transmissions in accordance with the ATSC Digital Television Standard. The RFA300 is used for transmitter installation, operation and maintenance.

Key RFA300 measurements include: signal-to-noise, error vector magnitude, eye diagram and constellation, out-of-channel emissions, adjacent channel emissions, adjacent channel spectrum, linear distortions including group delay and frequency response, non-linear distortions including amplitude error and phase error, phase noise, pilot amplitude error, and peak-to-average channel power

The RFA300 is priced at $49,500 (US); an optional rack mounting kit is priced at $350.00.
