VXI-based Optical Switch Used for SONET, Fiber-Optic Component Test

The Racal Instruments Model 1260-84B is an optical switch for use in broadband test systems. Linda Holtkamp, who handles marketing communications for the company, shows off the newest VXIbus-based switch. The optical switch is appropriate for SONET test, fiber-optic component test and fiber network monitoring. It offers single or dual 1x4 or 1x8 optical switching for simplex and duplex switching. The product has type FC fiber optic connectors that are front panel mounted. In the single mode it has 9/125 micrometer optical fiber with a standard wavelength range of 1,290-1,570 nm.
