Interface Technologyechnology (ITI) announces the availability of the first Source-Measure instrument for the VXI test environment. The SM15 is a fully programmable VXI-based instrument, capable of sourcing and measuring voltage or current simultaneously. The SM15 can source and measure voltages from 50 µ V to 15 V, and current from 30 fA to 100 mA. Both source voltages and source currents settle to specified accuracy in as little as 500 µs. Programmable delay and integrating measurement capability can provide coordinated source-measure times of 0.5 ms. Other features include four operating modes: DC/Step/Pulse/Sweep, store 8, 192 (reading)/256 (setting) Memory, 0.05% basic accuracy, 2000 source/measurements per second, four-wire Kelvin connections with driven guard, and four quadrant source operation.

The SM15 addresses a wide variety of lab and production applications, including the characterization of LEDs and diodes, and the measurement of leakage currents or resistivity of semiconductor devices.
