OKI Selects Verigy For Testing Wireless Communications Devices

Cupertino, CA - Verigy recently announced that Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. has purchased the Verigy Port Scale RF solution for testing its highly integrated wireless communications devices. OKI's devices are used by consumer electronics manufacturers for a wide range of end products, including set-top boxes, cell phones, PDAs and other wireless products. OKI also uses its strength in packaging technologies to offer packaging and test services to other manufacturers, and the Port Scale RF will be a valuable addition to its test services business as well. OKI selected the Port Scale RF solution for its unique performance and cost-of-test advantages, the reliability and scalability of the V93000 platform, and the quality of Verigy's global support for test applications and volume manufacturing.

OKI is among the first companies to adopt the Verigy Port Scale RF solution, which has been met with rapidly growing demand. Today, over 25 devices from eight of the top ten RF semiconductor suppliers1 are being developed on Port Scale RF for production release in the next few months. These devices include some of today's most challenging new 3G and 4G technologies, such as UWB and WiMAX, as well as current technologies, including Bluetooth, GPS navigation and ZigBee.

"To continue providing our customers with the best quality devices for today's complex, high-speed wireless communications applications, we need a test solution that ensures high reliability while also providing lower cost-of-test and fast time-to-volume," said Mr. Katsumi Onaru, General Manager, ATP Manufacturing Division, OKI. "Port Scale RF solution meets all of our challenging requirements for performance, cost and support. The inherent flexibility of the V93000 platform means it will also meet our customers' future requirements for their next-generation devices, as well."

"With Port Scale RF, Verigy has moved ahead of the competition to deliver to market the first ‘testhead-integrated' multi-port solution for cost-effectively testing highly-integrated RF devices," said Pascal Ronde, Vice President of Sales, Service and Support, Verigy. "We are pleased to have OKI join the many companies that have already selected and qualified Port Scale RF, quickly making it the new standard for testing the full range of complex RF SoCs and RF SiPs, including the latest 3G and 4G technologies."
